Open the route planner by opening the Tools tab, then selecting the "Plan Route" tool.
Next choose how you would like to add to your route, either drawing, or adding points. You can change this at any time while creating your route.
Then choose snapping mode. With snapping off the route will be exactly as it is drawn if using draw mode, or straight lines between points in point mode. In point mode with snapping on the shortest path that is appropriate for the selected mode will be used. In draw mode with snapping on the drawn line will be snapped to the nearest road or trail. If snapping mode is changed it will only effect future segments.
Now it is time to create your route. If using point mode, tap the map at your starting point to make the first point. If using draw mode start drawing from your starting point. If a point is added at the wrong location, drag it to a new location.
Tap any route point on the map for more options. From this view you can name points, add notes, or make a point show on the map with a color and icon. Tap the Check button when you are done editing the point.
Tap on a route segment on the map for more options. From this view you can name segments, add notes, or set the color. You can set the travel mode for the segment, which is used for time estimates. You can also change the snapping mode for a segment after it has been created, which will cause the route to be re-snapped. Tap the Check button when you are done editing the segment.
You can change the map at any time by opening the Map Menu.
Tap the Undo button to undo the last action
To split a segment tap and hold the segment where you want to split until a new point appears, then drag the point to its new location, or tap it change its appearance.
Hold the elevation profile to see the map location that corresponds to the point on the profile.
Tap the Table button in the lower left to see detailed stats about each leg of the route. A new leg in the table is created every time the route color changes, a segment is named, or a point is named or set to show on the map.
Tap the Options button in the lower right to set a name for the route, add notes, or set the color for the whole route. From the options screen you can also set if the route is an Out And Back route. If a route is set to out and back a return leg is automatically created and include in all route stats.
To save your route, tap the Check button. To discard a route tap the X button.
